About

Annie: citizen, non-lawyer, policy wonker. Thanks, Mrs. Rasor and Mrs. Feinman, for your inspirational combined 8th grade history and English courses. You brought history to life and appreciation for the use of language as the tools of the citizen. Would that we use them now to our advantage.

Gordon213: Public Safety professional in a major US municipality and a member of a Federal Urban Search & Rescue/WMD response team, responding to emergency incidents nation-wide. I love this country, I admire - and hold in awe - its founders, and I believe that the founding documents they artfully derived give We the People the tools we need to fight tyranny, if we will only use them.

Previous lives included Chinese language and literature, art history, comparative religion, and anthropology. Volunteer EMT. Consuming interests in neurobiology, hyperbolic spaces, dynamics. Drawn like a moth to a flame by discussions of the rule of law, civil rights, humanitarian law. Here’s hoping the world is a better place when we leave it than when we came.

I recently read that at the time he was elected president, George Washington was the richest man in the American colonies.

That rather dulled the awe for me.
